GREATER VICTORIA FIREFIGHTERS TO LAUNCH NEW 2010 GREATER VICTORIA FIREFIGHTER CALENDAR FOR CHARITY

This Thursday night, Firefighters from all 4 Professional Fire Departments in Greater Victoria, will be on hand, and geared down to launch the brand new 2010 Greater Victoria Firefighter Calendar for Charity.

Media are invited to come out, talk to the firefighters, join the party and gain a sneak preview of the talent in the 2010 Greater Victoria Firefighter Calendar.

Events begin at 8pm at the Bard and Banker Pub. Tickets for the event are still for sale and at $50 include a calendar, drink, live music by local band Quoia, and appies. Tickets will be available at the door, or at www.selectyourtickets.com All proceeds from the evening will be directly donated back into the Greater Victoria Community.

This calendar will mark the fourth consecutive year in which a firefighter calendar has been produced in Greater Victoria. Saanich firefighters began stripping off the heavy firefighting gear in support of local charities in 2007, and since then the calendar has grown to include Victoria , Oak Bay and Esquimalt Firefighters. This year's photoshoot, for the 2010 Calendar will be the first time that firefighters from all 4 professional departments will appear in the same calendar.

Over the years, the calendar has raised close to $100,000 all of which has been donated directly back into our local communities. For the 2010 Calendar, Firefighters are hoping to raise $60,000.

Prior to the event, firefighters will be available for television or radio interviews. Please contact Mike Grace to organize members for interviews.
